Tithe Green Blue House is the company’s North East site, an established woodland burial ground near Wingate in County Durham. The ashes option here works slightly differently to their Midlands sites: rather than planting a new memorial tree, ashes are interred in a biodegradable container beneath the mature established trees already growing in the woodland, marked with an inscribed Welsh slate plaque. Natural interment of ashes starts from £875. Only natural materials are used, with no plastic, concrete or chemicals, and the woodland is open to visitors 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Part of an independent, family-run group that also operates three sites in the East Midlands, with no catchment restrictions on who can use them.
