Forever into Glass is the memorial range from Langham Glass, a Norfolk glassmaking business trading since 1979 and one of the oldest and most experienced in the UK. A small amount of cremated ashes, human or pet, is mixed with a colour of the family’s choosing and layered into molten glass, encapsulating the ashes permanently within the piece. It is then sculpted or blown depending on the item, hand-finished in their finishing room and signed by the master glassmaker.

The range covers paperweights, bowls and vases, jewellery, and hand-sculpted glass animals and birds, including robins, kingfishers, pheasants, labradors and cats. Prices start at £100 for a glass pebble or charm bead, with paperweights from £100 to £210, animals and birds from £130 to £250, bowls from £125 and locket necklaces from £255. All jewellery is sterling silver and hallmarked.

Ordering is done through the website, after which families receive a confirmation pack containing a container for the ashes and a form for any engraving details. Turnaround is typically four to six weeks. For an extra £50 families can book a private viewing at the Fakenham factory and watch their piece being made, with a craftsman talking them through the process. That’s available on everything except the charm bead.
