Sharpham Meadow is a hay meadow in the South Hams Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, looking down over the River Dart.

Both full burial and ashes interment are available, and they are open to everyone regardless of faith, where they live or what sort of ceremony they want. Only simple flat headstones are allowed, with no additional memorials or planting, which keeps the meadow looking like a meadow.

There is a Fire Circle on the site, a gathering place where families can light candles, sit, or leave something. That is a genuinely unusual feature and worth mentioning to anyone looking for somewhere to return to.

The land belongs to the Sharpham Trust, so the site is protected in perpetuity. They are not funeral directors and families bring their own.
