Sheepdrove is broad-leaf woodland on chalk downland in the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with native wildflowers and mature hedgerows.

Both full burial and ashes interment are available. What makes it unusual is that graves are left entirely unmarked, with locations recorded by GPS instead. Plots also move gradually across the woodland rather than filling one area at a time, which protects the soil and the biodiversity.

That approach will not suit every family, but for anyone who wants no trace left at all it is about as close as you can get.

The woodland is open every day of the year, at any hour, with no restrictions on visiting.
